Introduction of Simple Messaging Service (SMS) in TBDN’s Discipleship Workflow

Simple Messaging Service, SMS in short, is one of the marketing methods used by many companies worldwide, particularly telecommunication companies. Since our mission at The Bible Daily Network is about raising generations in Christ through the production and distribution of digital discipleship resources, our leadership team decided to explore the potential of integrating it into our workflow deeper. Today, as we write this, a lot of effort has gone into this initiative, and our team is set to begin this in January 2025. However, it is good to write about the terms for this initiative for anyone who signs up for this initiative from our ministry.

Terms

Here are the terms for TBDN SMS discipleship.

#1 Collation of numbers

The SMS initiative covers only Ghanaian subscribers for the start, with numbers collated from anyone who subscribes to receive messages from us on our registration form. You can sign up here.

Secondly, phone numbers from members of our ministry on our WhatsApp platform will be automatically added to our registrants’ database, having gained a significant amount of loyalty to our ministry for the past five years (as of the time of this writing).

#2 Notice to New Registrants

Because our registration form and our SMS-sending platform are of different technologies, new registrants will be sent a welcome-on-board message within one week of registration after the initiative has commenced in January 2025

#3 How to opt-out

Subscribers will be sent a link to a form to fill out once per month if they want to opt out of the initiative. As things get better due to system upgrades, this will become something fast to do.

#4 Data protection

The data of each subscriber is very important to the ministry. Therefore, we are making a bold claim that we will not sell subscribers’ list data to any company or human.

#5 What will be sent and its frequency

Our team will send each subscriber links and texts of new articles released by our ministry’s websites twice per week, namely Wednesday and Saturday. That is all. Any other message that will come from our ministry aside from these two can only be about other activities in the ministry that require the participation of everyone in our ministry.

What next for people outside Ghana

Every initiative from our ministry grows with time as they are tested and stabilised. For people outside Ghana who want to sign up, they are free to do so. However, their numbers will be kept in a separate database for future purposes. Updates on the initiative’s expansion, including those outside Ghana, will be shared.

Thank you.
